First Bike Ride

We had some decent weather this morning and decided to go for a bike ride. Josiah absolutely loved it! We rode around awhile and when we came home he was pretty sad. When we took him out of the bike trailer he immediately got back in and put his helmet on and said, "More Dad!" So we went back for some more. It was nice to get out of the house and do something outdoors since it's been so very cold. Hopefully the weather will stay nice and we will be able to do this every Saturday.

Way to Go!

Josiah went almost two days without any accidents...well except night time. We put a diaper on him at night time, but it is usually not very wet in the mornings. I guess we'll figure that out later.
Today was exciting in that I ventured out to Costco with Josiah. Now remember, we hadn't really been out of the house much since I started potty training. But in the car while we were parking at Costco, Josiah says "Go potty." I figure he is just gonna go in his pull up because I still had to park and get inside the store. He was a big boy and held it until we got to the potty in Costco! I was pretty dang proud of him.

potty training update

Today is Josiah's first day not dirtying a pull up. It's only 4:00 pm, so who knows what will happen later. I put him on the potty ever hour and he goes everytime. Two days ago was the first time he told us he had to go potty and he has only done that a couple times since. But our timing has been good so far. Today after his nap, I put him on the potty and he went poo-poo, so it looks like we are making progress. The hardest part of this whole process is going outside the house. But we are figuring it out as we go.

Bye bye pee-pee

Josiah used the potty six times today. He only wet one diaper and that was when we were out of the house. I bought some supplies at the store in order to make my own potty chart. I got a whole bunch of stickers as well. He loves putting the stickers on the potty chart.
The whole process is quite funny. I can tell when he's about to go potty, so I put him on the toilet and then when he goes, he jumps up and tells me I need to take pee-pee to the big toilet. So we dump it in the big toilet and flush it and he says, "bye bye pee-pee." Then he screams "STICKER," but first he has to wash his hands. He gets two stickers each time...one for going potty and one for washing his hands. He would get a third sticker for poo, but he hasn't done that yet. I'm always too late and I can't tell he's pooping at all.
I'm very proud of my little boy.

Potty Training

I've set this week aside to do nothing but potty train. Since Josiah is so easily frustrated, we are taking our time and trying to find the way that best works for him. He tends to hold it for soo long and then when he tells me he's got to go...he's already gone. I have been putting him on the potty every hour or so and then of course when he tells me he's got to go. So far he's gone once a day this week. I haven't had to change as many diapers which is nice. Hopefully he continues to do well. I am gonna get some stickers and a potty chart as a reward for him. He loves stickers! I will keep posting about this fun potty training time..haha!

The Holidays

I was looking back at some old pictures and found this picture of Josiah on his 1st Christmas. It's amazing to see how much they grow in only two years.
We had a wonderful white Christmas this year. Josiah loved the snow and all the Christmas lights. He especially enjoyed all his presents! He got a lot of toys and clothes. He got a climbing toy with a slide from Grannie and Granddad that he has called his Castle! He got a tool work bench from Papa and Grandma and helped Nick make a bird house (out of plastic and he may not have helped too much). It's been nice with all the new toys, he was starting to get bored with the old ones.
On Christmas Eve we went to Grandad Doug and Grannie Lis' house for a king crab feast, which was delicious! Josiah got to open some presents early. Christmas Day we had a nice time opening presents and relaxing at home, just the three of us (and jake). We later went over to Papa Mike and Grandma Kathy's to hang out with that whole family. We did a stocking exchange and the boys got to open lots of gifts. We had a yummy prime rib dinner there. We had a lot of fun and it was great to see Josiah start to understand Christmas. He knows it is Jesus' birthday.
Then we had a fun New Years with my Aunt Nancy or Ninny. Josiah loves to play with her and it was great for him to see her.
We hope you all enjoyed your holiday season as much as we did.
